M8617 - WORCS REGT, OFFICERS TROPICAL SHORT SLEEVE JACKET.   £75
A well used and sun bleached, army officers tropical, lightwieght, 4 pocket jacket with rolled sleeves. Jacket has regimental brass buttons for the Worcestershire Regiment and inside is a Moss Bros label stating, " Capt.W.Brown. 1st Bat Worcs Regt. May 1942" The Worcesters were stationed in the Middle East at the wars start and the 1st Batt fought right through the african campaigns but in late june 1942, after heavy fighting in the Battle of Gazala, were captured when Tobruk fell, so Capt Brown may well have worn this jacket at Tobruk. There are stitched holes in the shoulder boards to take his rank pips and marks to the chest to indicate possible medal ribbon attachment and there is some wear damage to the rear from use of a belt, this is an item that could do with research.

M8603 - WOMENS ATS CAP.   £185

Helmet looks to have been cleaned recently so the finish looks fresher than it should.

A very well made wooden tripod for use with a camera, when folded its less than two feet in length but more than doubles when fully extended, has a dark blue/grey finish, has no AM mark but is stamped 6B/185, which is a air ministry coding, such as those found on issue watches.

M8988 - PAIR OF PARA PEGASUS BD PATCHES.   £180
A good pair of the wool type "Pegasus" patches, worn on the upper arm of the BD blouse. These would be stitched to all british para uniforms as the formation sign. They have suffered a couple of moth nips and have signs of having been removed from a uniform, otherwise they have good colour and display well.

A tropical version of the officers mapcase, made of green, lightwieght material, with celluloid map slides, usual places for pencils and poppered closure flaps, still in good condition which is unusual with these tropical items and interesting in having the officers name & rank inside, also what looks like a painted on division sign, nice item.

M7590 - NAMED CANADIAN ARFICA STAR WITH 8TH ARMY CLASP.   £35
A good condition Africa Star medal with its original ribbon, unusual in being a canadian issue example, which unlike british issued stars, has the owners details to the reverse, also has a metal number 8 fixed to the ribbon, meaning the soldier was part of the british 8th Army in north africa.

M7304 - MK1 MARCHING COMPASS MARKED TO HG UNIT.   £65
A Mk1 british army march compass in good, working order and condition, with its black bakerlite casing. Interesting feature is that it has been inscribed to its base with "1st B/mouth" which refers to the 1st company of the bournemouth Home Guard in Dorset and possibly belonged to the officer in charge.

M8229 - IRISH GUARDS, NAMED BERET.   £145
Interesting biege colour beret with Irish Guards metal badge, on a square section of material in regimental colours, with khaki material backing section inside the beret, it has a vivid blue, silk like material lining, with a hand stitched name tag with "St John Child Bart 1 Batl CG" the beret has seen a lot of use and is heavily sweat stained, which has darkened the biege material and caused a split, there is also a split in the black leather edge band, this is realy a beret that has been there and done it. This item is wide open for research as I had not information with it, not even sure if its an officer or not.

M8880 - HOME GUARD MARKED HELMET.   Sold
A good 1939 dated british combat helmet with good tan paint finish marked in a dark cream colour "Homeguard" across the front and on the left side WORCS over a number 2, which should mean 2nd Worcester HG, has a decent liner with a worn chinstrap.

A pair of unused Home Guard shoulder flashes, khaki backing with white stitched lettering.

M8230 - HG SHOULDER FLASHES WITH PAINT STAMPED LETTERS.   £35
Used pair of Home Guard shoulder flashes, being khaki material with lettering in cream coloured paint stamping.

M8916 - HG BRODIE HELMET WITH CUSTOM LINER.   £285
Interesting helmet which appears to be a british first war officers private purchase version of the Mk1 raw edge Brodie, with special padded liner assembly and normal leather chinstrap, helmet has a green & black camo paint finish and at the front is what looks like a decal of a black disc with a gold colour prancing horse (possibly for Kent) with on each side the letters H and G in black, so looks like a reissued helmet for an officer in the Kent Home guard, may have even been his original helmet, remarked. Helmet is very good but looks to have had a period coat of laquer which has aged and left a crazed effect over the helmet, this looks period as the laquer and even some paint has worn away on the front edge, where constant use taking the helmet off and putting it on has taken place.

M8876 - FRENCH INFANTRY ADRIAN HELMET WITH DAMAGE.   £100
Interesting french Adrian pattern helmet with metal infantry badge to the front and in an unsual dark blue/black paint finish, has a very good condition black leather liner and brown leather chinstrap. Interesting feature is the alloy combe to the crown of the helmet, this has subjected to what appears to be shrapnel damage which has punctured it in a couple of places, one puncture leaving a small hole in the steel shell below.

M5299 - D.R. RIDERS STEEL HELMET.   £225
A very good condition, unissued steel D.R. helmet for military motorcyclists, has excellent green paint finish to the shell which is the same as used on para helmets and fresh, unused liner assembly, the leather headband being maker code stamped BMB, size 6 3/4 and dated 1942.

M8227 - CAVALRY TROOPERS 1908 PATT SWORD.   £255
A good example of the classic first war cavalry sword, the 1908 pattern troopers sword, with its painted, full metal basket hilt and wood grip, having an indentation for the thumb and a heavy steel pommel, the blade being thick steel, tapering to a wicked point, the ideal thrusting weapon on the charge and not realy intended for slashing. The steel scabbard with its double ring mounted throat is also painted to match the sword hilt, a classic weapon.

M8987 - BRITISH FIRE OFFICERS HELMET, AREA 40.   £200
A very nice condition, senior fire officers marked helmet. The helmet which is dated 1939 has a gloss green finish, with two red painted bands around it (for rank) and two decals to the front, one being the AFS badge and below it an area number 40 in red on white, denoting the area as Wolverhampton, the underside of the helmet rim has the owners service number painted in red and has a good liner & chinstrap.

M8547 - BRITISH ARMY COMBAT HELMET.   £60
A 1940 dated british combat helmet that has been reissued for ARP use, but all the years since the war, the black ARP finish has all but worn away, leaving the original army ccombat finish exposed, the black paint is still evident inside the shell though and it has its original liner and chinstrap.

M8974 - BRITISH AIRBORNE CLOTH WINGS.   £75
A good original wartime pair of cloth, british airborne para wings, as worn on the BD uniform and also the Dennison smock.

M8949 - BRITISH AIRBORNE BD CLOTH INSIGNIA.   Sold
A nice original set of british airborne para, cloth insignia, consists of a pair of "Pegasus" BD blouse, formation arm patches, being the printed type with good colour and a single "Airborne" shoulder flash, also of the printed type, they show evidence of being used and removed from a uniform, good wartime items.

M8548 - BRITISH 1944 PATTERN COMBAT HELMET.   £50
Standard M44 pattern combat helmet with complete liner assembly and possibly repainted shell, though paint has good age and might be original.

M8978 - BRITISH 1939 FIRE SERVICE HELMET.   £150
A 1939 dated steel helmet, with black finish over its original army khaki (still showing inside) this helmet is unusual in having a large white oval to the front with "AFS/T" in red, denoting it as a fire service helmet but what the "T" stands for I have no idea and have not seen before but looks very striking. Helmet is tidy, with a farly dirty liner assembly, with canvas chinstrap

M4901 - BELGIAN GASMASK & CANNISTER.   £20
A good wartime Belgian army gas mask in its light blue painted cannister, with webbing straps, the rubber mask and its filter look unused, the cannister is in good condition, with one loop on the lid missing.

M8327 - AUSTRALIAN ARMY SIDE CAP.   £55
A good, large size, australian army side cap with white metal buttons and a brass cap badge, good, moth free condition.

M8636 - ARP MARKED GASMASK.   £50
A normal civilian gasmask in card case, which is in a cloth bag with ARP in black stamped on all sides, complete with shoulder strap.

M9001 - AFS HELMET, AREA 39.   £65
A well used AFS fire helmet in green finish with area decal to the front with number 39, for the Swindon area. Helmet liner has suffered and most of the canvas chinstrap has rotted but the 1939 dated helmet shell is sound with just light surface rust but most of the paint intact.

M5887 - 2ND ARMY CLOTH PATCH.   £15
Original white felt cloth shield, with stitched blue cross and gold/yellow sword, worn on the uniform shoulder. 2nd Army took part in the D-Day landings and carried on through Belgium & Holland and finished the war in germany.

A good pair of brown leather motorcycle or vehicle driver gauntlets, dated inside 1944 with maker details but no military issue marks.

M8298 - 1942 SAS DESERT WIND SMOCK AND TROUSERS.   £175
A well used but good SAS pattern desert windsmock with hood and dated 1942, this lightwieght garment with its hood was worn over the battle dress uniform to provide protection from wind exposure. Comes with a pair of trousers of the same pattern, but quite stained and with tear damage to the leg.

M8822 - 1940 PATT PARA BD BLOUSE, SGT RANK.   £750
A good, original 1940 pattern BD blouse, this one having para insignia of the maroon pegasus sleeve patches, sergeants rank stripes and cloth RASC shoulder flashes, has full maker label stating size as No4, with date june 1942, also has ink issue date of july 1942. Apart from a couple of very tiny moth nips, it is in excellent condition inside & out and has not been played around with.

M7801 - 1939 CANADIAN FIELD TELEPHONE.   £35
A 1939 dated F type field telephone made by the canadians and intended for use by searchlight units, has all bakerlite construction with twin bells on top and a telephone handset, would have had a transit box but this is missing, otherwise complete.

M6476 - TRENCH ART FUSILIER BADGE WITH GERMAN WOUND BADGE   £65
A large brass trench art item consisting of the fusilier cap badge approx 5 inches high and very slightly curved, in the centre of this has been fixed a german black wound badge of early brass type with most of its finish worn away, around the top has been inscribed "NORTH-d ROYAL FUS." This I think should be Royal Northunberland Fusiliers and at the bottom is "10 IND DIV." this will be 10th Indian Division, who the Royal N/Fusiliers were part of during the heavy fighting in Italy, a nice trench art item with history.
