M5091 - WW1 DEVONSHIRE ENGINEERS REGT PHOTO ALBUM.   £400
A very large and heavy (approx 4kg) photo album, leather bound with "Devonshire Royal Engineers" embossed in gilt to the front, the heavy, gitl edged pages contain many large plate photo's and also smaller ones, taken over a period from 1909 to 1915 and show all aspects of service life in the R.E. each one having beautiful hand written notes, name of the possible owner, a Capt. H.Stone R.E. is inside the cover, there are many large group photo's of officers, NCO's and men throughout, photo's of various exercises around devon during various years, construction of bridges, defences, bunkers, trnches etc, includes mobilisation photo's at different depots & train stations and parades at Plymouth. The photo's run out during 1915, the end of the album unfinished so maybe the owner did not survive that year when he went oversea's. A fantastic album with so much interest and detail, a real window into that period of time.

M8250 - WARTIME ALBUM TO GERMAN KC GENERAL.   £450
Interesting album, put together in the form of a illustrated journal with added photo's, covering the invasion of france 1940, made for or by the commander of Infantry Regiment 499, Oberst Heinz Greiner, holder of the Kinights Cross of the Iron Cross, who later rose to general in rank and was also involved in actions in russia and on the italian front around Anzio, then fighting rearguard actions till the end in italy. He had also commanded a MG company in the first war. The album comes with an original portrait photo of him as a general, at his desk, wearing his decorations & Knights Cross, the album consists of typed pages, approx 65, which have added, hand coloured drawings to illustrate events, then there are a further 15 original photo's placed through out, of bunkers, tanks, places and graves, all contained in a well produced cover. Interesting final item is a newspaper page, giving details of the american soldier who took the album, along with other booty from the generals house in germany, before blowing it up, quite a unique item.

M3800 - WAFFEN SS PHOTO ALBUM.   £500
A very good quality photoalbum, with 49 photo's of a Waffen SS Girbergsjager unit, showing scenes of the troops in normal field grey uniform, tropical uniform and wearing the distinctive SS camo smocks & helmet covers, vehicles are also shown in the photo's, good thing about this album is that all photo's are of the men and not the usual soldiers tourist photo's, also photo's of SS mountain troops are pretty rare.

The photo's are in sections dealing with work, rest, sports & rallies, they include several of Hitler in his car attending a rally and other high ranking RAD officers, showing many awards & decorations, a very interesting and impressive album.

M9241 - PAIR FRAMED PHOTOS ARTUR MAHRAUM.   £140
Two well framed, large size photo's of Artur Mahraum, one full length, one head & shoulders, showing him in his uniform with all his many decirations & awards. A veteran of WW1 where he fought on the eastern front with distinction, in 1919 Mahraum formed the Offizierkompagnie Kassel and then became the founder of the Young German Order or JungDO with a following of 300,000 at its peak, this bcame a forerunner of the Hitler Youth, as after he became a critic of Hitler and stood against him, which failed, this resulted in his groups being banned and him being imprisoned by the Gestapo in 1933. The photo's show well the JungDO badge to his cap and arm, a black malteese cross on a white shield and on his tunic he wears all his first war awards & medals, including Iron Cross, Wound badge, nine or ten in all. Very historic and original photo's.

Large award document with embossed luftwaffe eagle, awarded to a flight technician for his work, along with a senior luftwaffe officials signature is that of Hitler. Also included is a large photo of Hitler in his office.

M8846 - LUFTWAFFE GENERALS PAPERS.   £75
Some original file papers giving the service career of a luftwaffe Generalmajor. Bernard Kuhl, which show him to have been a veteran of the first war in the infantry and airforce, remaining in service between the wars and acting as a luftwaffe inspector upto 1940, his career after 1940 is not recorded as the papers only go up to that year. Though a quick search does show he carried on in luftwaffe training affairs until 1943, when he retired, only to be taken by the russians in may 1945 until he died in captivity in february 1946, appears to be plenty of research information regards this officer online.

M9501 - LUFTWAFFE BOMBING TARGET MAP   Sold

M9517 - GROUP OF GRAF ZEPPELIN PHOTOS   £40

M6408 - GRENADIER GUARDS 1940 LONDON AREA MAP FOLDER.   £85
A very large, tan canvas folder of maps in celuloid sleeves, marked with the owners name, an officer of the Grenadier Guards, the maps, 8 in total and make up a colour overview of the whole london area dated 1940, they have all been marked with approx 50 small circles, each with a number and which appear to circle the city itself and cover all main routes in & out, its possible they had something to do with the expected 1940 german invasion. The folder also has a section with inbuilt clip boards & pencil holders etc. Though the folder has suffered some damage and has not been cared for, it and its maps are still in decent condition and I think could do with careful research as it looks to be a unique item from the early war days of the London defences during the threat of invasion.

M8251 - GRAF SPEE 1939 PHOTO COLLECTION.   £165
A collection of 15 original photo's, covering the demise of the german battleship "Graf Spee" taken after the Battle of River Plate in 1939, first showing battle damage and flag draped coffins of her dead, also her captain, then her end, when she was scuttled on 17th Dec 1939. There are also photo's of the british cruisers Achilles & Exeter taken after the action and it all appears to have been put together by a member of Achilles crew, with a map of her atlantic patrol, interesting.

M9410 - GERMAN WARTIME POLICE PAPERWORK AND ITEMS.   £140
A large collection of paperwork, award documents, identity paybook and a medal ribbon bar, all to a wartime german police man. A german passbook or Arbeitsbuch with issue stamps for Vienna, 1944 and containing the photo of a army NCO in uniform, judging by his details he looks to have been in a form of transport occupation through the 20's & 30's but with no record from 1940, until this being issued 1944 with him as an NCO. There is also a small metal framed photo of him, again in NCO uniform, both photo's show him in M36 uniform, so must have seen service during the 40 to 44 period, with this passbook being issued in March 1944.

M9558 - GERMAN 25 YR SERVICE CROSS AWARD DOCUMENT   Sold
A framed award document for the 25 year service cross, in good condition with faint fold lines.

M9385 - DORSET REGT MEDAL GROUP.   £175

His medal set consist of the Defence, War medals, 39-45 Star, France & Germany Star, all still in their packets and boxed and his named Territorial Medal, also in box. M8886 - DORSET REGT MEDAL GROUP AND PAPERWORK.   £210

Also included are his various course note books with much information on various engines etc and lastly a bright embroidered hanky with the Dorset Regt badge. His paybook contains an attachment with a list of issued tropical kit, possibly he was going to join the war against Japan but the war finished before he was sent.

M9198 - BRITISH BOOK, COVENANTS WITH DEATH, WW1.   £65

M9516 - BIO BOOK ON MOLDERS   £25
A soft cover book on the life of Werner Molders, the fighter ace of the early war period, with copyright date of 1941, so written shortly after his death, with photo's on nearly every page, it documents his early life and his full flying career, having a colour photo of him on the cover.

M8200 - 1930 GERMAN CARD ALBUM OF ARMY DIVISIONS.   £100
Excellent and well presented album from the 1930's, with complete set of german, full colour cigarette cards, which portray the service history of all the german army divisions of the time, from the Franco Prussian War, through WW1 and upto the Reichswehr period, mostly concentrating on the first war actions, the album also has much written information too, very interesting item from just before the nazis period.

Printed on canvas, it has been kept rolled and it is quite worn with a couple of splits repaired with tape to the rear, but would frame well for display.
