M8449 - WW11 3RD PATT FAIRBURN SYKES FIGHTING KNIFE.   £200
A wartime 3rd patt FS fighting knife, all blued finish, unusual in having "Shefield England" marked along the blade, rather than maker mark stamped on the cross guard, complete with good condition leather scabbard of recent manufacture but correct original issue type.

M8386 - WW1 S84/98 MAUSER KNIFE BAYONET WITH FROG.   £125
A good example of the german first war knife bayonet, type S84/98, with wood grips, steel scabbard and complete with its brown leather frog, the steel finish blade is well marked with maker logo of a pyramid with a cross and also the maker details "Gottlieb Hammesfahr. Solingen Foche", the black finish to the scabbard is in fair condition and the frog has had a period stitched repair along one side but for its age the leather is still supple and sound.

M8393 - WW1 PATTERN OFFICERS CAVALRY SWORD.   £270
A 08 pattern cavalry troopers sword from the first war but having a bright steel finish scabbard, possibly for officers use, has the full painted hilt basket and shaped wood grip, blade is clean and undamaged, nice item.

M8407 - WW1 GERMAN S84/98 BAYONET AND FROG.   £95
A first war german S84/94 knife bayonet with original leather scabbard. Good condition, though shows its approx 100 years age, has good wood grips and tidy blade. The steel scabbard has its original leather frog, with period repair stitching at the sides, with the leather still supple.

M8788 - WW1 GERMAN ERSATZ BAYONET.   £55
A decent, all steel construction, ersatz bayonet, production started in 1915 due to german material shortages, the plain steel hilts had a painted finish but this has worn away, blade is good and undamaged and has an imperial acceptance stamp, just missing its scabbard.

M8834 - WW1 GERMAN BUTCHER BAYONET.   £165
A good example of the S98/05 patt "Butcher" bayonet, with good wood grips and a decent steel scabbard, the good condition blade is maker marked to Waffenfabrik Mauser A.G. and the spine has its acceptance stamp and also the kings crown and issue date of 1916.

M8789 - WW1 FIGHTING KNIFE MADE FROM 1888 BAYONET.   £65
A nicely made trench fighting knife, converted from a british 1888 patt bayonet, the blade & scabbard shortened to knife length, the bayonet pommel removed and reshaped and the muzzle ring flattened to form the other half of a crossguard, makes a very handy knife, with the blade heavily greased for storage.

M8424 - WW1 BRITISH OFFICERS TRENCH KNIFE.   £250
Interesting trench fighting knife, used by a british officer in WW1, the blade converted from a 1888 bayonet blade and fitted with well formed, blackened wood grips, fixed with three rivets, the wooden scabbard is a work of art, in two halves, held together by a series of screws, with no visible join line showing, finished with a modified leather frog. This knife was made for the officer by the men of the Sikh regiment he served with on the western front, it has been well cared for and looked after.

M8493 - SWISS 1914 SAWBACK BAYONET.   Sold
Well made Swiss 1914 sawback bayonet for the short Schmidt Rubin rifle, with realy long blade in bright steel, as is the hilt with its wood grips, complete with blued steel scabbard, which does have a few dents.

M7599 - SWEDISH M1896 BAYONET.   £35
A model 1896 swedish rifle bayonet, for use with the swedish Gevar M/96 rifle, all steel construction with engine turned grip, blades looks double edged but only lower edge is sharpened, has central fuller, complete with its steel scabbard.

M8790 - SPANISH 1941 BOLO BAYONET WITH ADAPTOR.   £65
A good, model 1941, spanish bayonet with the well known "Bolo" blade, with its metal scabbard and chequered wood grips, also comes with the adaptor that enables it to be fitted to later 43 & 44 model rifles.

M8675 - SA DAGGER.   £550
Early SA dagger, with all nickle fittings to dagger and scabbard, has a very good wood grip, with inset silver eagle & enamel SA badge. The blade is good with well etched motto to the front and on the reverse the full makers logo for Thomas Wielputz of Hohscheid, a fairly rare maker of these daggers.

M8318 - RUSSIAN NAVAL OFFICERS DAGGER STRAPS.   £55
A matched pair of naval officers dagger hanger straps, though infact russian in origin, they are an exact match for the german wartime KM dagger straps, in black material with gilt alloy fittings, the only difference being, instead of lion heads on the buckles, they are anchors, they even have the chain & hook to the shorter strap.

M8540 - RUSSIAN BERDAN RIFLE BAYONET.   £100
Excellent condition socket bayonet for the imperial russian Berdan rifle.

M8613 - ROYAL NAVY OFFICERS SWORD AND COVER.   £950
Excellent naval officers sword, complete with oilskin protective cover. Sword is by Wilkinson, with a makers shield to the top brass section of the scabbard, which states "Wilkinson Gun & Sword Maker. Pall Mall. London" the other side of this is a large, fine three letter monogram, possibly the original owner, as there is also another name on the sword lock plate "P.J.Hinton" which bears no relation, so could be the 2nd owner. The sword is of the 1827 pattern, with gilt & blue sword knott and finely etched blade of fouled anchor, royal crest and Prince or Wales feathers, under which is a banner with "By Apointment". There is a number to the spine "16296" which the wilkinson records give the year of manufacture as 1869, so a victorian sword that I suspect has also also seen service in the first war and possibly later, a very fine item and worthy of research.

M7840 - REPLICA KM DAGGER POMMEL EAGLE.   £38
A very well made replica KM dagger pommel eagle, made as a display item but could be used on a dagger if it was threaded, has been cast using an original for the mould.

A good, mauser rifle, parade version of the K98 knife bayonet, in steel scabbard, with leather frog and original dress knott. Bayonet has the black, chequered bakerlite grips, with plated metal hilt and blade, which has the maker logo and name of E.Pack & Sohne. Solingen, nice item to find complete.

M8275 - LUFTWAFFE OFFICERS DAGGER WITH KNOTT AND HANGERS.   £475
A good luftwaffe officers 2nd pattern dagger with nice dark orange, wire bound grip and is complete with its dress knott and deluxe hanger straps, with the square buckles. The dagger has a good, undamged blade, with the "King" logo of dagger maker SMF, that is Stocker & Co of Solingen, There is frayed wear to the knott cord and to the hanger straps but its nice that everything is original ot this dagger and nothing added, nice item.

M8396 - LUFTWAFFE 2ND PATT OFFICERS DAGGER.   £350
A tidy 2nd patt luftwaffe officers dagger with yellow wire bound grip, good detailed hilt fittings, very nice blade with maker logo & name for Paul Weyersberg and also having a nice luftwaffe acceptance stamp, a good dagger with no damage, just without knott and hangers.

M8676 - LUFTWAFFE 1ST PATT OFFICERS DAGGER.   £600
A sleepy condition (uncleaned) luftwaffe 1st pattern officers dagger, early nickle fittings and hanger chain, hilt grip and scabbard with dark blue leather covering in good condition, the grip also being wire bound, hilt cross guard and ponmmel both have inset bronze sunwheel swastika's, the blade is very clean, with nice luftwaffe acceptance stamp and full sword in wreath makers logo of Paul Weyersberg & Co. A good condition, as found dagger.

M8855 - KRIEGSMARINE OFFICERS DAGGER.   Sold
A rather nice kriegsmarine officers dagger with good gilt finish to its early brass fittings and scabbard with lightning bolt designs. The dagger has a white grip and no damage to the hilt, working spring clip for the scabbard, the blade is very good, etched with the fouled anchor design and has the early maker logo of the Squirrel and name Eickhorn. Solingen. A good dagger without the usual dents to the scabbard.

M8567 - KNIFE NAMED TO GERMAN PARA.   £200
A small military issue clasp knife with just a single blade, the steel blade is marked one side "Feldw.E.Hermet" and on the other "Fj.Rgt. 2. 3.1." so named to a german para of Falschirmjager Regt 2, the last numbers of 3 & 1 are very small and possibly relate to something like 2nd company, 1st section ?. Knife has dark wood grips and is unusual in that the tension spring for the blade has been removed, this looks deliberate, as now the blade can be swung out and locked with one hand and unlocked and folded in the same fashion. Interesting knife and the para has not been researched.

M7932 - ITALIAN M1891 BAYONET DATED 1940/41.   £85
The Mannlichter Carcano rifle was standard issue for the italian forces in both wars, for its use in WW11 the M1891 bayonet was issued, first issue having brass mounted leather scabbards, 2nd issue with steel mounts and late issue with all steel scabbard, this one has the steel mounted leather scabbard, with the leather being stamped "A.R.E.T. 1940" the blued steel mounts match the blued steel hilt fittings, with the cross guard being dated stamped 1941 and on its other side A P 291 which could be a unit marking ? The bright steel blade has a used but clean look.

M8433 - GERMAN WW1 FIGHTING KNIFE,   £200
A good condition german trench knife, with blackened wood grips, steel scabbard with faint traces of the paint finish, decent leather belt loop and strap for the hilt, the knifes bright steel blade is maker marked to Gottlieb Hammesfahr and has a military acceptance stamp to the other side, quite tidy for its age, a nice knife.

M8124 - GERMAN WW1 BAYONET KNOTT.   £75
A silver cord dress portapee knott for a german WW1 bayonet, having a blue/grey leather strap with silver cord stitching, in excellent condition.

M8835 - GERMAN PARADE BAYONET WITH ETCHED BLADE.   £425
A mauser rifle parade bayonet with finely etched blade, dedicated to Jager Regt 41 and Ostmark region it was raised in, this is set between a pair of eagles with swastika's, the other side of the blade has a battlefield scene with MG team, infantry support artillery and a light tank, with a service dedication banner above it. The blade also has interesting double marks, one side the logo and name Holler as the bayonet maker and on the other "Hans Prem Amberg" as the person who did the etching.. Bayonet with its eagle head pommel, comes with its gloss black steel scabbard and patent leather frog with felt backing, very nice and original item.

The blade is good with its motto and has double maker marks of full "kissing Cranes" logo and name Robert Klaas. Solingen. And also has RZM stamp with code M7/37 making this what is called a transitional dagger, before the makers name was reduced to just a code number & RZM mark.

M8818 - GERMAN MADE BRAZILIAN CAVALRY SWORD.   Sold
Interesting brazilian cavalry officers sword, with steel hand guard, bearing embossed letters "EUB" and having black chequered, composite hand grips, nice fullered blade, maker marked to "Alex Coppell Solingen" made possibly in the 1890's, has good steel scabbard.

M8791 - GERMAN BUTCHER BAYONET.   £100
A good S98/05 model bayonet, well known as the "Butcher" bayonet due to its blade shape, this is a tidy example with good wood grips, clean blade and decent metal scabbard, though having some dents. Unusual feature is that there are no visible issue/date markings or maker marks, just two tiny Imperial acceptance stamps to the pommel. This may be a WW1 bayonet that has been reissued, possibly in the Weimar period.

M8848 - GERMAN ARMY OFFICERS DAGGER BY ALCOSO.   £350
A nice condition army officers dagger with good silvered finish metal scabbard, the dagger has early plated fittings with much original finish remaining and very good eagle to the crossguard, dagger grip is dark orange with just one tiny hairline crack. A good, all brass construction kriegsmarine officers dagger, maker marked with the logo of Paul Weyersberg & Co on the good condition blade that is etched with the naval furled anchor design, has realy heavy brass scabbard with most of its laquered gilt finish intact, the dagger grip looks like ivory but is not, the hilt fittings design by this company make it very likely this is an imperial navy dagger, that has had the crown pommel replaced by the nazi eagle pommel, which officers often did, rather than buy new daggers, a very nice early dagger by a good maker.

M8175 - CARVING SET WITH ETCHED BLADE BY HENCKELS.   £125
Excellent boxed, three piece carving set by well known dagger maker J.R. Henckels. Zwillingwerk AG. They actualy started in the cutlery business in 1731 and are still going strong today. This is a pretty old set possibly dating from the war or just after, the three items, carving knife, fork & sharpner, all with dark staghorn grips, have the Henckels name, with the knife also having the "Twins" logo found on wartime daggers, the knife which has a 9 inch blade, is finely etched on one side with stags in a forest scene, the box lid is also covered in the company name & twins logo's. Excellent condition, 07 pattern bayonet, with almost mint blade, maker marked by Remington, who produced the 07 bayonet for the british (100,000 from may 1916), the blued steel hilt has excellent wood grips and the leather scabbard with bright steel fittings is also very good, fine example of the bayonet.

M8792 - BRITISH 07 BAYONET BY SANDERSON.   £100

Bayonet has bright finish to the metalwork, good wood grips and decent leather scabbard.

M8490 - BRITISH 03 PATT BAYONET.   £200
An excellent british 03 pattern bayonet, this was the first bayonet issued for the then new SMLE rifle but was replaced by the iconic 07 pattern, as a longer blade was thought to be required.. The 03 has the same double edged style blade in bright steel, as the earlier 1888 pattern, but the blued steel hilt with wood grips was then a new design, also used on the 07, the blade is broad arrow marked with maker code EFD, for "Enfield & Sheffield Royal Small Arms Factory" and has an issue date of november 1905. The scabbard is the No1 Mk1 with fine, brown leather with internal chape to the end and blued steel throat. Altogether a fine example of the type.
